Our Premium Thunderbird Mexican Yoga blankets are thick, heavy, and made of a wonderfully soft blend of cotton, acrylic, and polyester. These beautiful heavyweight blankets come in several color combinations and thunderbird patterns. Understanding that these blankets are hand made in different villages throughout Mexico there may be some slight variations in the shades and pattern from the picture shown.
Mexican blankets are used frequently in Iyengar and restorative yoga practices. They can be used folded under kneeling and sitting poses to cushion bones and joints, underneath you in repose positions to insulate from cold flooring, rolled or folded to provide support or add stretch in poses, or just as a cover to warm you in Savasana.
The Thunderbird (Golindrina) represents a bird of power and strength in certain North American indigenous cultures. Its name comes from the belief that its wings cause thunder and stir the wind. Find your power and strength using these Thunderbird blankets during your yoga practice or using at home. Adds a beautiful splash of color and design as a throw blanket or lying on your bed. Use for a picnic blanket or to cover your outdoor table. Use for your pets, as an emergency blanket, or as a fun blanket to use at your kids' games or your favorite team games.
As mentioned previously, the blankets may vary from what is pictured. Some of the variations could be that some blankets have solid-colored thunderbirds, while others have multi-colored birds. Some blankets may have different colored thunderbirds, while others have the same colored bird throughout. Shades of color can also vary from blanket to blanket. These blankets are handmade in different villages of Mexico and so each shipment we receive can be different.
