Our Mexican blankets are hand woven and made of a blend of cotton, acylic and polyester making them soft and comfortable. These Premium Yoga Blankets are thick, large, in the traditional striping pattern. They come in several great colors and designs. Since these blankets are handmade in villages throughout Mexico, there may be some slight variations in the pattern and colors from the picture shown. Shades of the color stated can vary, the striping pattern, and the color of the tassels making the blankets unique with every shipment.
Mexican blankets are used frequently in Iyengar and restorative yoga practices. They can be used folded under sitting or kneeling poses to cushion bones and joints, underneath you in repose positions to insulate from cold flooring, rolled or folded to provide support or an extra stretch in poses, or just as a cover to warm you in Savasana.
Our Premium Yoga Blankets are made with a tight weave, so these blankets are thicker and warmer than our Classic. In addition to their larger size, they will offer more cushioning and insulation.
These blankets are also great for use at the beach, a picnic or to cover an outdoor table and of course for providing warmth as a blanket.
Our Mexican Yoga Blankets are hand woven and are made in different villages in Mexico. Each yoga blanket is unique and may vary in pattern and color. To see some of the samples of variations that can occur, please use the image scroll-bar above. For example, one image shows three yoga blankets that are in the same blue, but they offer a slightly different pattern. Another example of variations is in color, such as the shades of blue can range from Sky Blue to Royal Blue. These types of variations can be found in all color schemes, not just blue.
Another common variation is in color combinations. We label our color schemes by the primary color. But the blankets could have very different secondary colors. For example, the Burgundy color scheme may be offered as Burgundy/Grey or Burgundy/Salmon or another combination. Every shipment received is different due to availability of resources and which town in Mexico it is made in.
