The PROlite yoga mat by Manduka has similar qualities to the Black Mat PRO. Here’s the difference, it’s simply lighter. With the same great quality, eco-friendly manufacturing and durability, it weighs about 3 lbs less than the Black Mat PRO.
This eco-friendly PROlite yoga mat is easy to transport and also has superior quality and comfort which is protected by the same Lifetime Guarantee by Manduka. In addition, the PROlite supports Manduka's Green Mission with zero-emissions manufacturing process and this mat is certified safe for human contact by Oeko-Tex, an environmental certification agency.
A neat thing about the PRO and PROlite yoga mats, are they work fantastic with Hot Yoga and Vinyasa Flow. It's closed-cell construction keeps perspiration from seeping into the mat during your practice and helps with tough poses and stretches.
The high density cushioning provides joint protection on any surface - carpet, cement, or hardwood floors. The fabric-like surface offers slip-resistance, even with light perspiration. The dot-pattern bottom resists sliding on your surface. Engineered for sustainability, the high quality material will not peel, flake, or fade. The expected longevity of the mat reduces consumption and landfill waste.
Please note: The PROlite yoga mat was formerly known as the “PurpleLite Travel Mat”.
We recommend using Manduka Mat Renew, a gentle, certified organic yoga mat wash made with essential oils (or any non-solvent household cleaner) with a damp cloth or sponge. Hang to dry in the sunshine. Avoid soaps with scented oils as they breakdown the composition of the mat. Never squeeze out excess water from your mat. To maintain shape, hang dry. To maintain the sticky texture, clean at least once a week when in use. When not in use, store your mat in a yoga mat bag.
To Store: Roll your PROlite with the top side (fabric-finish) facing outwards. This keeps the corners of the mat flat when practicing.
To Break In: The surface texture of the PROlite non slip yoga mat improves with use. Our customers have found that the best way to “break in” their mat is to use it on a daily basis. Another trick is to sprinkle coarse sea salt over your mat, scrub it down with a sponge, and air dry in the sunshine.

Manduka PRO series yoga mats, designed to last a lifetime (or two), curb the amount of PVC mats that enter landfills every year and reduces overall mat consumption. Also, during the manufacturing of most PVC products, toxic emissions may be released into the air. However, PRO series mats are manufactured through a process that ensures no toxic emissions are released into the atmosphere. The Pro series mats are certified safe for human contact by OEKO-TEX, an environmental certification agency in Europe for the textile industry.
