Yoga Blocks


3-inch and 4-inch Yoga Blocks

Yoga Blocks are a versatile yoga prop. Not only do they provide support and stability when limited flexibility doesn't allow you to extend to the floor, but they can also be used to intensify a stretch. This versatility makes a yoga block a great tool for both beginners and advanced users.

You can buy foam yoga blocks, eco-friendly cork yoga blocks, or blocks made from recycled materials or natural balsa wood.  The differing materials offer different textures to the touch and different weights. 

There are generally two sizes available for a yoga block - 3 inch or 4 inch - but some vary.  Generally speaking the 4 inch yoga block would feel more stable when on its tall side (such as when using in Half Moon), but the 3 inch yoga block would allow you to get a little deeper into a pose since it'll bring you closer to the floor.  Which size yoga block you buy depends on your practice.

Some poses require two blocks, while at other times it is just easier to use two blocks so you don't have to shift the block from side to side. That is why we'd recommend two blocks of similar size and material.
